About

Preserving the working legacy of the Belgian Malinois through sport, training, and community.

Since its founding in 2000, the American Working Malinois Association (AWMA) has been committed to protecting, promoting, and preserving the working heritage of the Belgian Malinois. As the official U.S. representative to the Fédération Mondiale du Berger Belge (FMBB), AWMA supports a national network of clubs and handlers who train and trial in disciplines such as IGP.

Our Mission

We exist to develop and promote the working capabilities of the Belgian Malinois while fostering education, ethical breeding, responsible ownership, and a strong community of dog sport enthusiasts.

What We Do

  • Sanction national and regional trials

  • Maintain a registry of titled dogs and member clubs

  • Promote education and training resources

  • Represent U.S. handlers in international competition

Why It Matters

The Belgian Malinois is one of the most capable working dogs in the world. Through proper training, stewardship, and support, we help ensure this breed continues to thrive as a functional, driven, and loyal working partner.
