And as a reminder, beginning at this championship (2009) all competitors wishing to compete are required to have an AWDF Scorebook. If you have an AWMA issued scorebook, this is from AWDF and will be the one you need to enter. If you don't have an AWMA/AWDF scorebook and wish to enter through the AWMA, you can purchase one from our secretary.

As per a request from the AWDF secretary, here is an announcement about the upcoming championship:

The 2009 AWDF Championship website is up and running. The AWDF events
committee requests that in support and promotion of our annual event all
clubs place the link on your official websites as soon as possible.

http://www.2009awdf.com/

We will have information on the championship and how to enter on the "events" page of our website in the near future.

Here's the update on how to enter the AWDF Championship. Each club was to choose how it would verify that the dog/handler team was eligible to compete for that organization. Other clubs may choose to stamp scorebooks and/or require that the dog be registered with their club's registry. The AWMA has chosen to go with a less costly and more handler-friendly mechanism that has no additional charge other than fees for photocopies. It will also will not require that you send your original scorebook through the mail.

To enter the 2009 AWDF championship, a copy of the handler's AWMA membership card and AWDF issued scorebook must be submitted along with the entry to Terry Miller, AWMA secretary, to be received by April 25th. To be eligible for the FCI world team, the entry must also include a copy of FCI-recognized registration papers.

If you have an FCI registered dog, I strongly suggest that you send along a copy of the dog's registration papers. The winner of the AWDF event has an automatic berth on the FCI World Team, and if you even think that you may have a chance at winning and then want to go to the FCI Worlds, we need the copy of your registration papers in hand.

Ann...This is an area where the AWMA shines, compared to some other clubs. I think that keeping things simple and headache free for the handler is awesome. Thanks for the user friendly method. Now that's good service.
