Motion that the AWMA adopt a policy of listing the breed of the
dog as Belgian malinois in the AWMA-issued scorebook
provided the following criteria are met:
1) The dog possesses some sort of permanent identification (tattoo,
microchip), and
2) One of the following:
a) The dog possesses registration papers from the FCI or an affiliated
organization (including AKC), or
b) The dog possesses registration papers or a pedigree from another
registry not FCI-recognized, or
c) The dog appears to possess traits and characteristics specific to the
Belgian Malinois.
Under the conditions in items 2(b) and 2(c), a specific notation will be placed
in the score book indicating that
the dog is not FCI registered. Further notation to be placed in the scorebook
and the criteria by which (b) and (c)
will be deemed to have been satisfied will be proposed by a subcommittee
appointed by the President in accordance
with Article VIII, Section 2(a) of our bylaws.
