I want a Corgi

Postby Christopher Smith » Tue Aug 04, 2009 10:48 am

I’m looking for a Corgi, or dog of similar type, for my 4 year-old daughter. I would like a young dog or puppy, preferably a female. Do you guys know of any breeders I should contact or dogs that are available?

You do realize Corgi's shed worse than any breed I have ever met in my life.... their coat is horrible to deal with. I would go border terrier :)

I am not buying this "it's for my 4 y/o daughter" bit....This is Chris's new "snuggle bug".

Pembroke or Welsh?

Ahh, gunny. So close on the zinger there. But it would be Pembroke or Cardigan. You know....Pembroke WELSH Corgi and Cardigan WELSH corgi. Both are Welsh.

Chris,

Try a Westfalen Terrier. www.westfalenterrier.com

They shed very little and look like minature malinois. I bought mine from the guy that originated the breed in Germany. Probably one of the coolest little dog I have ever seen.

I don't have contact info immediately at hand, but Ajay Singh's wife breeds Pembrokes, and the one i met that came up here was a great little dog that went to a lousy home with 3 horrible children and the corgi just shone through it all. So... contact Ajay. His kennel name (GSDs) is vom Patiala, but I don't know what his wife uses, sorry.
